A Note from the Homeowner
In 2020, I was on the hunt for a place in Wokingham with great transport links but in a quiet location for me to relax. I then struck gold finding this Cottage in Mount Pleasant, being only a few minutes walk from Wokingham Station, it was a real game-changer but what really made it special was the sense of community on our no-through road. We have a WhatsApp group where everyone looks out for each other, creating a genuine feeling of belonging.
What I really loved about the home was its charming Victorian character, but it also had some modern features that really improved the living space. The ground floor extension, with its open-plan kitchen and dining area, was a standout feature, it seamlessly blended the traditional charm of the house with contemporary living. The bi-fold doors opening out onto the garden brings in plenty of natural light and created a wonderful indoor-outdoor flow, perfect for hosting barbecues and entertaining friends. On those chilly winter evenings, it is also really nice to relax in front of the log burner, with a hot or cold drink in hand.
Alexs Best Bits
Mount Pleasant is a quiet no-through road just 300 metres from Wokingham Station a great little spot thats also a short walk into town. This end-of-terrace home has parking out front for one small / medium sized car, side access, and a 60-foot west-facing garden for that afternoon sun. Down at the far end, theres space ideal for a home office, gym or games room, giving you options depending on your wants/desires.
As you walk into the front room, youre welcomed by a cosy wood burner, perfect for those snug winters nights in. Just off the hallway, theres a smart refitted shower room with a double-sized cubicle, and then head through to the rear, where it really opens up into a kitchen and dining space. With bi-fold doors onto the patio, its a great setup for hosting friends and enjoying that indoor-outdoor flow.
The house is move-in ready the main and flat roofs have both been replaced within the last couple of months, and the space just feels fresh!
Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, two doubles and a single, which is ideal for a nursery or home office. The loft conversion makes up the top bedroom overlooking the garden and finished to a high standard.
Like many period terraces, theres a shared right of way through the garden for the friendly neighbour next door rarely used, but worth noting.
Extras worth noting:
' No onward chain' Searches pre-ordered' Gas central heating and double glazing throughout' Parking for one car right outside
If youre after character, practicality and walking distance to both the station and Wokingham town this one ticks all the boxes.
We look forward to showing you around.
